Most of our meat and produce is regeneratively-raised by King's Crown Organic Farm. We are committed to providing our community with affordable, healthy staples. This is made possible when the owner of the Merc and the owner of the Farm are married to one another!
Back when we ate with the seasons, we had to learn to live without tomatoes in March. It might seem strange to walk into a store claiming to sell groceries, only to find no bananas! While we serve some product year-round, our produce is seasonally-dependent. You can likely find potatoes, onions and dry beans throughout the year. But melons? Only near the end of summer. Cucumbers? A few months mid-summer. While some of what we make and carry can be spendy (due to it's high quality), we strive to keep staples affordable. We all need healthy fruits, vegetables and meat. Raised on organic, regeneratively-maintained, soil, our produce is full of the vitamins and minerals much of today's conventionally, mass-produced food is lacking. Come try the difference.
King's Crown Organic Akaushi beef is humanely raised on grass its entire life. Our organic Heritage Berkshire pork is raised on pasture when seasonally available, and otherwise has lots and lots of room to run, roll and dig. Currently, our pork is not smoked: take home a large cut of pork belly and make your own bacon, or buy some fresh ham and smoke your own!
We are very proud to carry Wild Spaces Farmraw milk, raw yogurt and raw labneh. We strongly suggest you call if you're driving from out of town. The product goes very quickly. Wild Spaces Farm is a micro-dairy, so the products they we're able to get are very precious and sell very fast.
The creator of Cloverstone (same owner as the Merc) decided, in an effort to create a better work/life balance, to sell the business. It is now in great hands with new owners is once again expanding. Six Creeks Mercantile is, of course, one of the place you can find your favorite gluten free pizza crusts and gluten free dinner rolls, ready for you to take home and bake at your leisure.
Those of us who love to cook know that spices can be extremely expensive. Most of the cost passed to the consumer is from the packaging. We carry bulk spices - and little bags - so you can come in for a Tablespoon, a cup, or anything in between.
