So many of us are unaware of what is - and isn't - in our food, where it comes from, how it's raised and how it's being handled. If you have the financial luxury of choice, buy as close to the source as possible. It puts money directly into farmers' hands, and you can ask questions about how your food was grown and raised (and you can expect the answer). Our food system is large and complicated. The larger and complicated a system, the more susceptible and fragile. Educating ourselves on what we’re eating and how it gets to our table is important for the long-term health of our bodies and the earth.
